KSU Spirit Day at Bojangles’

On June 27, the athletics department hosted Kennesaw State University’s Spirit Day at Bojangles’ in Kennesaw. Between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., the KSU Athletics Department gave out KSU-branded merch and took Kodak photos of students with the school’s mascots. Football Coach Brian Bohannon helped make biscuits in the back with Bojangles’ employees!

We spoke to Bohannon briefly about the experience, as well as his plans for coaching.

How was it (making biscuits)?
It was awesome. That was the first time I’ve ever done that. Steven [Bojangles’ Operations Director] was a great teacher.

How’s coaching been so far?
It’s been awesome. Community’s been great. The students have been great. We have a great group of kids and staff that work extremely hard.

What are your future plans for the team?
We’re continuing to build a Division 1 FCS program that I think everyone in the community can be awfully proud of. We’re gonna continue to build. We came off a great season. We’re looking to build on that. Obviously we wanna win a championship here.

We also had a moment to speak with Brooke Waters, the Marketing Manager for the Bojangles’ in Kennesaw and five other locations.

What are your plans for future collaboration with KSU?
We’ve become a music department sponsor and we’ve talked to the [School of Culinary Sustainability and Hospitality]. Any avenue that is interested in being a partner with us, we’re open to it. […] Any way that the community wants us to be involved, we’re happy to do it!
