Donald Trump’s hair isn’t the only thing that Jimmy Fallon ruffled Thursday night.
Fallon hosted Trump as a guest on the “The Tonight Show,” and social media almost immediately responded to the interview. Viewers can typically be found laughing along with Fallon during his late night show, but after Trump’s visit, the NBC host didn’t receive many chuckles.
Fallon shared some friendly interactions with the Republican nominee and uttered an exuberant “Yes!” when Trump agreed that Fallon could mess up his hair.
Some viewers chided Fallon for his actions.

Shame on you @jimmyfallon for normalizing bigotry. How did it feel to rub your fingers through the hair of a racist demagogue? #JimmyFallon

Others were thrilled about Trump’s appearance and showed no mercy to critics.

Trump appeared as less than a monster on #JimmyFallon because he is human. It’s y’all that demonized him with tall tails for agendas.

Trump’s views and public appearances have long been a point of contention throughout this election season, but there are always passionate critics and supporters. The race between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump is certainly not exempt from Twitter’s outspoken users.
Whether Trump’s next move that elicits diverse and fiery responses happens in one day or one month, social media is sure to provide a front-row seat to all of the action. I’ll see you there.
