In light of the amazing year of football, the fans are either on their feet or are highly anticipating their team’s offseason. There are now only two teams that are still in the hunt for the championship: the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons. These teams have dominated throughout the playoffs and landed themselves a trip to Houston. This year’s Super Bowl will officially end the current football season.
Everyone will be watching the NFL premiere teams battle to win the championship this year. Some people think that one team or the other will have a definite advantage over the other team, so I will give an apples-to-apples comparison of the two teams in this year’s Super Bowl.
First and foremost, let’s talk about defense thus far in the playoffs. The Patriots have the advantage on the defensive side, as they have the top defense in the league. They have been causing offensive problems for teams all year. The Falcons have also had good defense in the playoffs while playing Seattle and Green Bay.
Next up is how both teams measure up offensively. The Falcons have the advantage on offense, as they scored the most points in the league. The Falcons have averaged an astonishing 39 points a game for the past six games. Matt Ryan has gone nearly two months without an interception and has scored on the opening dive of eight straight games. To say that they have been on a roll is an understatement. The Patriots have also been efficient on offense, with the veteran player Tom Brady doing what he does.
Some people say that there is a clear-cut winner already, but I believe that this will be a good game to watch. The top two premiere teams of the NFL, going head-to-head. Who cares about Tom Brady’s record against the Falcons in the past – this is a new team he is facing, and he knows that. The Falcons have already made history this past season, and are only one win away from putting the cherry on top of this great year. Both teams have been waiting all year for this moment, and they will all be prepared to give everyone a show.
For all the Atlanta fans out there, there is only one thing you can do – support your Falcons and hope that we bring our own footballs. If you want to stay home with some friends and watch the game, that’s fine, but if you want to go to a more intense location to watch the game you can head down to Atlanta. Every local sports bar in a 45-mile radius will be out of control during the game.
To all fans out there – be safe, and #RISE UP.
